A Recap of Our Awesome DEI Adventures!
Let’s take a moment to relish the incredible journey we’ve been on these past months, fueling our commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive work environment.
Get ready to be wowed by our awesome Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming. We believe that creating a space where everyone feels valued and respected is not only the right thing to do, but it also fuels innovation and growth.
First up, a massive round of applause for our Recruitment Committee! They’ve pulled off something truly spectacular — introducing a groundbreaking Inclusive Interview Training!
This training equips our hiring teams with the tools and knowledge needed to conduct fair interviews, attracting top talent from diverse backgrounds. By embracing this training, we’re ensuring that our recruitment process is inclusive and provides equal opportunities for all candidates.
And of course, the month of June was Pride and Juneteenth! As a token of our gratitude and commitment to diversity and inclusion, we distributed special Pride enamel pins and Juneteenth bookmarks to our dedicated staff and cherished clients.
These small yet meaningful gestures served as symbols of solidarity, representing our unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
To expand our cultural horizons, we recently had the pleasure of hosting two of our “Around the World” celebrations with the awesome Area Teacher at OFL, Aiden Aizumi and Project Coordiator Chelsea Yokota along with Assistant Principal at OFY, Sindy Park! They unveiled the wonders of different cultures including Japan, Hawaii and South Korea, leaving us all in awe.
From mouthwatering delicacies to jaw-dropping landscapes, she showed us the incredible places we simply can’t miss. These presentations encourage us to embrace and celebrate different cultures, promoting inclusivity and fostering a sense of global unity within our team.
Last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to our partner Marino Wellness for delivering three presentations to help expand our knowledge!
They took us on a captivating journey, unveiling the “History of Pride”, exploring the vibrant world of “Street Art Expression”, and reminding us of the invaluable importance of mental health with “Just Breathe”. It’s through these incredible sessions that we’ve deepened our understanding of history, art, and the wellness of our minds and souls.
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to announce that the fun isn’t over yet. We’re eagerly anticipating more engaging opportunities this fall. Together, we’ll continue to build a diverse and inclusive community where everyone feels valued, appreciated, and ready to make a difference. Get ready for an exciting chapter in our journey!
